Dr. Byron Scott is the President and COO at Direct Relief, a global humanitarian medical aid organization and previously served on the Board of Directors. He is an Adjunct, Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University, College of Population Health where he teaches a Healthcare Quality.
He previously had physician executive roles at IBM Watson Health and Truven Health Analytics for 7 years and EmCare, a physician practice management company, for over 20 years. He practiced emergency medicine for 25 years, including various leadership roles within hospitals.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Accuray, Providence Health Plan, and Rady Children’s Health. He received his B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles, M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, and MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Medical Quality.
