Azwa Shamsuddin

Dr Azwa Shamsuddin is a lecturer in adult health nursing at Edinburgh Napier University, where she specializes in leadership, nursing workforce issues, and evidence-based practice. Dr Shamsuddin obtained her PhD in Nursing Studies from the University of Edinburgh, where her doctoral research focused on the role of leadership in empowering nurses' professional identity to achieve research utilization. Her research endeavors include leading a cross-sectional observational study on safe nurse staffing in Scotland, collaborating with the University of Pennsylvania. Dr Shamsuddin is currently developing a national survey in Malaysia to determine the impact of staffing, work environment and nurses' education on patient outcomes to influence policy.
