Nick Hardiker

Professor Nick Hardiker is a Registered Nurse with a background in general Nursing, who has Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, UK. Nick previously held: senior academic roles as Professor, Associate Dean (Research & Innovation) and Dean; digital health leadership roles at the UK Royal College of Nursing and the International Council of Nurses; and was for 10 years Editor-in-Chief of Informatics for Health and Social Care.
Nick is currently Chair of the International Medical Informatics Association Nursing Informatics Working Group, is a member of the UK Royal College of Nursing, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, the American College of Medical Informatics and the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics. He was the recipient of the 2017 Virginia K. Saba Informatics Award.
Now working independently as ICNP Consultant, and at Board level in a Non-Executive capacity at a large integrated health system in the UK, Nick has over 30 years’ experience of applied research and innovation around the development, implementation, use and exploitation of electronic health record systems and standardised terminologies.
